How we raise funds

As Acorn is a registered charity, we are very reliant on fund raising to provide new equipment and resources for the children. This page highlights the fund raising initiatives and activities that are currently in place to support Acorn.

Cake Sales

Acorn holds cake sales on the first Friday of every month. These are at 11.30 after Playgroup, outside Acorn, and after Pre-school at 3.15 in the bottom platground of Oaklands School.

Name tags

When it comes to school, losing clothing can be a real pain, so it's a great idea to put name tags in your children's clothes. If you are buying name tags, please use www.nametag-it.co.uk and quote C166 - Acorn will recieve a donation of 10% of your purchase. You get name tags, and support Acorn all in one easy step!

Easy Fundraising

Acorn can earn commission from some of your online purchases. All you need to do is to register on the website www.easyfundraising.org.uk and make sure you select Acorn Playgroup and Pre-school, Welwyn, under the " find a cause" section. By saving the link as one of your favourites, every time you do your shopping, Acorn will benefit!

Carboot Sales

These are an ongoing fundraising activity, whereby some Trustees and parent volunteers run a stall at the Hitchen Car Boot sale. Donations of any of your unwanted items will be gratefully accepted for us to then sell. Please just hand the items to one of the Trustees or bring them to Acorn.

• Bingo or Quiz Nights
• Stalls at the Welwyn Festival
• Pampered Chef Evenings
• Shopping & Indulgence Evenings
• Charity car parks

Vouchers and Tokens

We now collect Books for Schools tokens from Nestle cereal boxes. We also collect Tesco Vouchers for Schools. Please give these in at Acorn.

Donations list

We always welcome donations of toilet rolls, baby wipes, toilet wipes, paper, pens and craft materials, as well as good condition toys and clothes.

We welcome any and all suggestions for events and fundraising! Please feel free to email any ideas through to acorn.playgroup.preschool@gmail.com , or speak to any of the Trustees or teachers.
